My mom is babysitting a three year old little girl this week, who has recently come to the conclusion that Stoney needs more beds than he already has. She spread my brother's power ranger blanket on the ground and said "The boy dog can lay here!" So, we moved the tie down over there and "boy dog" stood there, watching me and trying to figure out what was going on. One blanket wasn't enough, he had to be covered! So here comes the Tinkerbell blanket. Then the Christmas blanket. Then the hand towel I use to clean him off. Then the other blanket that happened to be laying out. Now that he is as snug as a bug, "he needs a book". So she read Stoney a book, left it by his side, and scurried off to get him a baby doll to snuggle with. Once she walked away, Stoney shook the blankets off and decided that being a dog burrito just wasn't the job for him..but laying on his huge pile of blankets and showing them off to "the girl dog", who didn't get any blankets, was easy enough.

Dog Burrito
Lots of pictures.

Catching The Z's
Little Stoney wasn't feeling too good yesterday and had a sick tummy, so we stayed home again. Who knows what his little puppy self got into to make him sick. So he had to eat rice for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. He wasn't really sure how to eat it, but he made sure there wasn't much left over. This morning he went to the vet to get some shots, one of which he had previously had a reaction to. So he got some Benedryl and we went off to Target for a couple items. He was such a good boy at the vet, so I bought him a new Nylabone.
Stoney's new BACON FLAVORED Nylabone. Well, he has a smaller one so I bought him the biggest size they had. :) |
After everybody got done oh-ing and ah-ing at the PUPPY in the store that looks just like Poppy and Miley and Joe Shmoe and that one black dog. When you walk into a store with a puppy, they either want to tell you all about the pets they've had in the past two hundred years or they just stop their cart and stare at him. So we made it out of the store without someone stealing the adorable black puppy. On the car ride home, he was sleeping like a rock. The Benedryl was taking it's toll. One positive was that he didn't change position three hundred times during a thirty minute ride! So he slept for several hours, and then suddenly became wide awake at dinner time. I wonder why? ;)

Church Dog
Stoney has been staying home for most of the week. We had an obedience class at the school on Thursday and he was a super star. I'm amazed at how well behaved he is for a DOG let alone a young puppy. We also had a puppy raiser meeting on Monday, which was great. He was one of the most well behaved dogs there, sleeping through the whole meeting. He acted like he'd been to a million restaraunts, but it was his first time at a restraunt. Today, Stoney went to church for the first time and slept through the whole two hour service. The loud praise and worship, shouting, clapping, nothing fazed the little guy. After words we rushed outside to busy then came back in so he could be mobbed by everyone. He was so sweet with the toddlers, enjoying them more so than older kids. Tail stepped on? Pulled? Eyes poked? No problem. He lay there and kept on wagging his tail, occasionally rolling over onto his stomach for a belly rub and sometimes even standing up to snuggle with a toddler before coming back and laying down next to me. He never jumped, lunged or mouthed anyone! I was very proud. He's tired, despite him sleeping through service!

Happy Birthday America!
Happy 4th of July!
Our family stayed home today, not going to watch fireworks anywhere special, although there was plenty of them outside. Stoney was on the lookout for them, wanting to know where that mysterious noise was coming from. We went to Subway to pick up some subs so we put an American flag bandanna around little man's neck along with his cape! Subway employees tried to get him out, but became even grumpier when I politely told them he was a guide dog in training. "Oh.." they said. "What do you want on your sandwich?''Stoney looking away from the camera with his flag bandanna. |

You mean they have whole stores filled with FOOD?!
Stoney went to the grocery store yesterday along with a few other stores and loved it, trotting along on his puppy legs and wooing small children and senior citizens with his extreme cuteness. He is a good little shopping buddy, keeping his nose to himself and no more accidents. He lays down when checking out and his tail never stops wagging. Already, when the coat goes on, he stands taller, walks faster and the tail goes a-waggin'. He loves his job!
